AC Milan have not won the Serie A title since 2010-11

AC Milan moved up to fifth in the Serie A table after M'Baye Niang scored twice in an easy win over Sampdoria.

Sixteen-year-old Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma was rarely troubled once Giacomo Bonaventura put the hosts ahead, although he did make a smart stop to deny Roberto Soriano.

The hosts went 2-0 up through Niang's penalty after Bonaventura had been fouled, before further goals from the impressive Niang and Luiz Adrian.

Eder's penalty reduced the deficit.

It was no more than a consolation effort for a poor Sampdoria side, who have now lost three league games in a row.

AC Milan are seven points behind leaders and city rivals Inter Milan, who are away to second-placed Napoli on Monday.
