Shane Long is confident Southampton will win at Tottenham on Super Sunday as they push for a Europa League spot, with boss Ronald Koeman targeting the one top-flight scalp to evade him.

Koeman has conquered every Premier League team over his two seasons at St Mary's apart from Tottenham, with the Dutchman's best league result against Spurs a 2-2 draw in April last year.

Southampton's recent 4-2 victory over Man City on Sunday saw Sadio Mane score a hat-trick as the Saints netted four for the second Premier League game in a row.

It leaves them in seventh place in the table and ensures the club can still qualify for next season's Europa League.

"The gaffer said in the last couple of years there's only two teams we didn't beat, Man City was one and Tottenham was the other, so that's one hurdle over," Long told the club's website.

"Now we've got to go to Tottenham and try to repeat the same result."

However, the 29-year-old does not underestimate second-placed Spurs, whose 2-2 draw with Chelsea on Monday ended their title hopes and meant Leicester were crowned Premier League champions.

Ronald Koeman feels Southampton can qualify for Europe and beat last season's points tally

"We're very confident," Long added. "It's another tough game for us, but we're playing good football and there's no reason we can't go there and get the three points."

Southampton are two points behind sixth-placed West Ham with two games remaining and will end their campaign at home to Crystal Palace on May 15.
