Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino says he is only focused on the next game and that finishing above Arsenal isn’t a worry to him.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino says the next game is the only aim after his side beat Southampton 2-1 on Super Sunday.

Spurs maintained their unbeaten home record in the Premier League with the win, as Mauricio Pochettino's men made it 10 consecutive victories at White Hart Lane in the league, and are now 10 points off the league leaders Chelsea.

With the Premier League title looking seemingly out of reach, and Spurs also in an FA Cup semi-final, Pochettino insists the main aim for his team at the moment is simply the next match.

"The aim is the next game," he told Sky Sports after the victory.

"It is difficult because we now have 10 days without our players. They need to play for their national teams. We hope that nothing happens and all will arrive back in a very good position to start to fight again for the league."

Tottenham 2-1 Southampton

Despite narrowly edging out his former club Southampton at White Hart Lane, Pochettino felt Spurs did deserve all three points.

He added: "Southampton are a very good team with very good players and yes it was difficult, but in the end I think we were better and deserved the victory.

"The first half we played very well. We were much better. The second half was, on the contrary. We conceded a goal because of our mistake, not clearing the ball in the box.

"They proceeded to score but I think we were better."
