FA clarifies semi-final ticket policy after Emirates advertisement

EASTLEIGH, UNITED KINGDOM - NOVEMBER 04: The FA Cup trophy on display prior to The Emirates FA Cup first round match between Eastleigh FC and Swindon Town

The Football Association says cup semi-final tickets on offer to Emirates customers do not affect supporter allocations.

An advertisement issued by the airline, sponsors of the FA Cup, apparently offered tickets in any of the four semi-finalists' Wembley sections in exchange for 15,000 air miles.

That led some fans to question whether tickets earmarked for Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City or Tottenham would instead be going to Emirates customers.

But an FA spokesman told Sky Sports News HQ Emirates' 250 sponsors' tickets for each semi-final are not being drawn from the 32,000-plus allocation for each club.

It is understood the sponsors' tickets will not be behind either goal.
