Jamie Vardy will start for England in the friendly against Germany in Dortmund on Wednesday night, according to Sky sources.

With Marcus Rashford and Jermain Defoe the only other recognised strikers in the England squad, the Leicester City frontman will be given a starting berth for Gareth Southgate's side at Signal Iduna Park.

The news comes on the day Sky sources learned Leicester had offered Vardy and his family extra security after he said he and his wife have been targeted on social media following Claudio Ranieri's sacking.

Vardy will be the central striker in a front three, with Adam Lallana and Dele Alli either side as Southgate is tipped to go with a 3-4-3 formation.

Burnley's highly-rated centre-back Michael Keane could also be handed his debut alongside Gary Cahill and Chris Smalling.
