Alan Judge has pledged his future to Brentford by signing a new two-year contract at Griffin Park.

The Republic of Ireland international had less than three months left on his previous deal with the Bees and had attracted interest from Sky Bet Championship rivals Brighton and Newcastle.

Judge has not featured for Brentford this season, but is close to returning to training having spent almost a year on the sidelines after suffering a double leg-break.

"I am really pleased that Alan has committed his immediate future to us," Brentford manager Dean Smith told the club's official website.

"He has been an integral member of the squad since he joined and has played a massive part in the recent success of the football club.

"He is close to a full recovery from the terrible injury he suffered and we will certainly reap the benefits when he returns to the standards he was setting in the Championship prior to the injury, which earned him his first full international cap and plaudits from managers and peers from within the Championship.
