Borussia Dortmund have agreed a deal to sign Germany U21 international Mahmoud Dahoud from Borussia Monchengladbach in the summer.

The 21-year-old was out of contract at Monchengladbach at the end of next season and their Bundesliga rivals have moved in to complete a reported €12m (£10.3m) transfer.

Dortmund sports director Michael Zorc told the team's official website: "Mo Dahoud is a highly talented and exciting player for the central midfield, who we have been watching intensively for several years.

"He has already demonstrated that he can play at the top level."

Dahoud joined Gladbach from Fortuna Dusseldorf's youth team in 2010 and has been part of the first-team squad since the 2013/14 season.

The midfielder - a reported target for Liverpool - has featured in 52 Bundesliga games, scoring six goals.
