Manchester Utd 2-0 Crystal Palace

Josh Harrop

Undoubtedly the star of the show, Harrop won't be forgetting his debut in a hurry. The 21-year-old from Stockport looked at home at Old Trafford from the first minute, producing bright runs with the ball before his 15th-minute goal.

The strike itself will live long in the memory; picking up Paul Pogba's fine pass, Harrop isolated Martin Kelly in the box, gained half a yard and produced an unstoppable shot into the far corner.

Even besides the goal, Harrop was impressive. He constantly wanted the ball, was happy to drop deep to receive it, and even swapped wings on several occasions to confuse the Palace full-backs.

Harrop was man of the match, but will we be seeing him in a red shirt more next term, or would a loan move suit the youngster?

Demetri Mitchell

Manchester-born left-back Mitchell put in a solid display on his United debut, and could get more game-time next season if the position isn't solidified by Luke Shaw or Matteo Darmian.

After a tidy first half, Mitchell gave a glimpse of his attacking threat in the second, at one point freeing himself from an impossible sandwich of two Palace players near the corner flag, before bursting away and crossing.

With a clean sheet to boot, Mitchell will be happy with his day.

Scott McTominay

The giant 6ft 4in midfielder was one of the quieter youngsters on show, keeping the ball ticking along nicely in the first half, before showing some signs of inexperience in the second.

He was booked for clipping Wilfried Zaha as he beat him for pace just after the break, before misplacing a couple of passes towards the end of the game.

Nevertheless, this was still an overall solid display from the 20-year-old, who made his debut against Arsenal earlier this month.

Axel Tuanzebe

The 19-year-old has primarily played at centre-back for the youth team, but again played just in front of the defence on Sunday.

Tuanzebe was impressive, completing all but one of his 63 passes, 100 per cent of his dribbles and providing good cover for the United back four.

This was Tuanzebe's best performance in a United shirt to date, and anything that did get past him was soon dealt with by Eric Bailly, who put in a colossal display.

Joel Pereira

Another making his first Premier League appearance, 20-year-old Portuguese stopper Pereira kept a clean sheet on his bow, impressing with another sturdy display.

His one save of note came from Luka Milovojevic's free-kick, stopping the ball and keeping hold of it at his near post, and his distribution was also sound.

He was pinned to his goal line from a corner by James McArthur early in the game, almost allowing Christian Benteke to head goalwards, but his claiming improved as the game wore on, taking charge from Palace's set pieces.

Angel Gomes

The 16-year-old produced a few nice touches in his short cameo, but some of the records Gomes broke in making an appearance may make you feel old.

Coming on with five minutes to go in place of Wayne Rooney, who himself made the headlines at 16, the attacking midfielder is the youngest United debutant since Duncan Edwards, and the first Premier League player born after 2000.

United fans at one point urged Gomes to shoot from 30 yards, but the youngster didn't get overexcited, instead finding a team-mate.
