Norwich City are set to appoint Borussia Dortmund II's Daniel Farke as their head coach.

Farke has recently emerged as the leading contender to take over from Alex Neil, who departed Carrow Road in March and his appointment could be confirmed before the weekend.

He took over Dortmund's reserve team when David Wagner left for Huddersfield in 2015 and they finished second in Regionalliga West this season, losing only three of their 34 games.

But Farke confirmed on Tuesday that he would be leaving Dortmund this summer when his contract runs out at the end of the month.

Wagner's appointment at Huddersfield was overseen by Stuart Webber, who has since moved on to Norwich as sporting director.

Farke will take over a Norwich side who could only finish eighth in the Sky Bet Championship after being relegated from the Premier League in 2015-16.
