Tony Mowbray says he has the support of Blackburn's owners and insists he is "very happy to move forward" at the club.

The 53-year-old was appointed at Ewood Park in late February after signing an 18-month contract but could not prevent Rovers from suffering relegation from the Sky Bet Championship on the final day of the season.

Mowbray flew out to India at the weekend and says he was delighted with the positive discussions he held with the Venky's, suggesting he will be in charge for the start of the new season in August.

"I'm very happy with the discussions that I have had," Mowbray told rovers.co.uk. "I've met the owners, I've met the people that I am working for, and I am very happy to move forward.

"Whilst we were all disappointed with the end of last season I see it as an opportunity to now move the club in the right direction and grasp this opportunity whilst it is there for us.
