Stephane Mbia took a theatrical dive at the expense of former Tottenham midfielder Paulinho during a Chinese Super League clash between Hebei China Fortune and Guangzhou Evergrande.
Mbia, who spent a year at QPR back in 2012, was chasing down the ex-Spurs player with the game still goalless when some seemingly innocuous contact sparked a dramatic reaction.
The Cameroon international dropped to the ground clutching his face before rolling across the turf several times, winning a free-kick but leaving his opponent bemused.
Paulinho's team-mates had the last laugh though as a 2-0 victory secured them a league-record 10th consecutive win.
After a goalless first half, Brazilian Ricardo Goulart opened the scoring for the leaders in the 47th minute with a header.
And six minutes later, they doubled their lead when Alan pounced on a Paulinho's free-kick that came back off the wall.
