AC Milan have announced that they have completed a deal for the signing of Leonardo Bonucci from Juventus.

Bonucci will sign a five-year contract - and will earn £110,000 a week after tax, according to Sky sources.

Chelsea and Manchester City had been interested in signing Bonucci last summer, but the player does not want to leave Italy for personal reasons.

The 30-year-old has scored 18 goals in 300 appearances for Juve since signing from Bari in August 2010.

Juventus have signed Brazil winger Douglas Costa on a season-long loan from Bayern Munich.

And Bonucci has been a regular in the Juventus side that has swept all before them in Italy in recent years, winning the Italian title for the last six seasons.

He has also won the Coppa Italia on three occasions but his last match for the Turin side came at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff in May, where he was part of the side beaten 4-1 by Real Madrid in the Champions League final.

The Milan statement read: "AC Milan have reached an agreement with Juventus FC for the permanent transfer of Leonardo Bonucci, subject to medical completion.
