Watford are interested in signing Arsenal's Kieran Gibbs after West Brom pulled out of talks to sign the left-back last week.
Gibbs is available at the right price, having been left out of the Gunners' pre-season tour to the Far East and the Emirates Cup squad.
Sky sources understand he would have to take a significant drop in wages if he was to leave the Emirates Stadium this summer.
Tony Pulis' Baggies pulled out of talks to sign Gibbs earlier this month after having a £10m bid rejected, while Newcastle are also reportedly monitoring his situation in this transfer window.
Gibbs has a year left on his contract and new Watford manager Marco Silva wants to increase his quota of English players.
The 27-year-old lost his first-team place to Nacho Monreal and made just eight Premier League starts last season, and Arsenal appear to be setting-up with a back-three ahead of the new Premier League season.
Gibbs, who has 10 England caps but has also fallen out of the national-team frame, is a product of Arsenal's academy, who made his debut during the 2007/08 season after spending a short time on loan at Norwich City.
