But United will not bid for Rose because they believe Tottenham have no intention of selling him this summer.

The Daily Mail reports United and Chelsea have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Sergi Roberto after Barcelona revealed how important the player is set to be for them this season.

Roberto was reportedly upset at Barca's decision to sign Paulinho from Guangzhou Evergrande but new boss Ernesto Valverde is "counting" on him this season.

Jose Mourinho could make Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain his fourth signing of the summer.
