We round up the latest Liverpool transfers rumours from around the British and European press on Friday, August 18.

West Ham are ready to hand Manuel Lanzini a new four-year contract and will resist any moves from Liverpool to lure the Argentine to Anfield, reports the Daily Express.

Lanzini has been linked to Liverpool, who are hoping to fend off Barcelona's interest in Philippe Coutinho.

But should the Brazilian leave for the Nou Camp, Lanzini is reportedly one of a number of players under consideration to replace him.

The Daily Telegraph says Barcelona will "fight" to sign Coutinho up until the transfer window closes with the growing expectation that they will soon submit an improved offer after Liverpool flatly rejected a bid of £90m.

Coutinho has handed in a transfer request at Liverpool as he seeks to leave for Barca.
