West Brom have enquired about the possibility of signing Liverpool's Mamadou Sakho, according to Sky sources.

Sakho has not played for Liverpool since April 2016 and was sent home from the club's pre-season tour of the United States a few months later.

The centre-half was named Crystal Palace's player of the season in May after his performances during an eight-game loan spell helped the club move clear of relegation trouble.

Albion's enquiry comes amid interest from Manchester City in club captain Jonny Evans, although the fee and Sakho's wage demands could prove stumbling blocks.

Speaking on Friday about City's £18m bid for Evans, Pulis said: "They've made an offer which we've turned down.

"Every player is for sale at the right price. It is absolutely crazy to say a team like West Brom won't sell players if people weren't going to put an enormous amount of money in front of you.

Tony Pulis insists West Brom are under no pressure to sell Jonny Evans after rejecting a bid from Manchester City

"Firstly, we don't want to sell him, we don't need to sell him. So we're not desperate to get the money. It would have to be a very, very good offer.
