Hearts have drawn up a shortlist for the vacant managerial job at Tynecastle to replace Ian Cathro, according to Sky sources.

Interim boss Jon Daly, Paul Hartley, Steven Pressley, Dougie Freedman are all under consideration following Cathro's dismissal on August 1 after seven months in charge.

Billy Davies was also on an initial five-man shortlist but he has now withdrawn himself from the running.

31-year-old Daly took charge following Cathro's dismissal and has been control of team affairs for Hearts' first three games of the new season.

Chairwoman Ann Budge and director of football Craig Levein handed responsibility to Daly and will shortly decide if he is the man to have the job on a full-time basis.
