Burnley boss Sean Dyche says he is still in the market for new signings, but will only consider making a move for 'quality' players before the transfer window closes.

Dyche is still looking to add more reinforcements to his squad after spending a club record £15m for striker Chris Wood from Leeds United.

The Burnley boss said: "We have a good group here that are very accepting of new players coming in, even the forwards see it as a challenge, so they all just get on with it.

"There is no sense to the fees on any player I feel - so therefore the fees are not an issue any more I don't think for managers.

"We are just looking at quality, we want to add, year on year, to the quality. Of course, there are certain specific areas in any team.

"We want to add layers of quality if we can get them, and they come to this club.

"The economy of football has changed so that even teams that have to sell often don't, or they just hang on, and on, to get the absolute maximum for any player.

"Teams and clubs are paying a lot hard because they know there is a lot of money out there. It's made it tougher.

Burnley's 2-0 midweek win at Blackburn in the Carabao Cup was marred by a worrying incident when two Blackburn fans came onto the pitch and confronted a pair of Burnley players as they were celebrating a goal.

Lancashire Police charged four people who were arrested following incidents at the match.

Dyche intimated afterwards that security needs to be tighter and he still feels the incident could have been dealt with better.

"The main thing that kind of gets forgotten is it was an important result for us and a really good performance," he said.

"Obviously the talking point is someone coming onto the pitch. I think afterwards my words were slightly changed.

"Stewards do a fantastic job but you have got to get on there quick and in this instance I think, a situation that could have got a bit messy, could have been stopped very early on.

"They do a great job and it is not easy because people do get carried away sometimes. But life has changed and you don't know what that person coming onto the pitch is going to do.

"People come on a lot more angry nowadays and it needs to be stopped or prevented as quickly as possible."
