Birmingham City remain in talks over a club-record deal for Ghana international Afriyie Acquah, according to Sky sources.

Torino's president and coach do not want to sell the midfielder, despite Acquah having expressed his interest in a move to St Andrew's, but Harry Redknapp remains hopeful a deal will be done before Deadline Day ends.

Acquah respects Torino's stance and will not try to force through a move, but negotiations are ongoing.

Redknapp continues to be frustrated by transfers at Birmingham, with proposed deals for Stewart Downing and Ogenyi Onazi having failed to get over the line.
