James Morrison has been called into the Scotland set-up for the World Cup Qualifiers against Lithuania and Malta.

The West Brom midfielder will link up with the squad on Tuesday after midfielder Tom Cairney and striker Steven Fletcher withdrew on Sunday evening. Darren Fletcher is also doubtful for the game against Lithuania on Friday night.

Morrison was left out of the original squad announced last week having not played since injuring knee ligaments in the 2-2 World Cup draw with England in June.

However, both Morrison and Fletcher were involved in the 1-1 Sky Live draw with Stoke on Sunday, August 27.

Strachan told Sky Sports News: "Darren jarred his knee in yesterday's game against West Brom and he has been playing very well recently. He finished the game but it has stiffened up. He's having the injury assessed and then we will see how he is after that.

"James is surprised he has played two games since the original squad was announced and he's feeling really good about himself and it's good that he is here."
