Burnley manager Sean Dyche says they must build on their confidence-boosting victory over Everton last weekend that ended an 11-game winless run.
The Clarets face West Ham at the London Stadium on Saturday knowing victory would take them to within two points of sixth-placed Arsenal, who have lost three Premier League games in a row and do not play Watford until Sunday - live on Sky Sports.
Burnley were also boosted by the return of key players against Everton, including James Tarkowski who started the match and striker Chris Wood, who came off the bench to score the winner as Burnley came from a goal-down to claim victory at Turf Moor.
"We came off an awkward run, although I said there were some good performances," said Dyche.
"It was a worthy performance to win a game and players getting back to full fitness adds to that competition for places.
"All of a sudden you have one loss in five and everything looks different with one win, it's amazing how that happens. Now it's about building on that and moving forward."
Dyche refused to be drawn on whether they can overtake Arsenal and secure a top-six finish this season, with his main target seeing his squad continue to improve every year.
"We just want to better ourselves from last season. We have had year-on-year progression and that is an important factor," he added. "It's not easy to do, so credit to my staff and players.
"To continue that growth…is the main marker but of course it's nice to finish as high as you can in the league table.
"We are already up to the points tally from last season and we want to go beyond that and set a new marker.
"The next challenge is the one that is upon us and that is West Ham, so our focus stays clear on that."
