Conor Sammon struck a late penalty as Partick Thistle grabbed a Premiership lifeline.
The Jags hitman kept his cool to ram home from the spot against St Johnstone with just three minutes to go to claw back a point in the battle to beat the drop.
Alan Archibald’s men were looking to pull clear of bottom side Ross County but suffered a blow six minutes before the break as Joe Shaughnessy popped up at the back post to nod in Liam Craig’s superb cross.
Kris Doolan saw a header crash off the bar in the second half but it looked like Thistle’s push was running out of steam as the clock ran down.
But sub Ryan Edwards was caught in the box by Craig and Sammon stepped up to salvage a crucial point for Thistle .

Thistle are still in their fighting but they are desperately in need of adding a cutting edge if they are the pick up the points to avoid the direct drop or being hauled in to the playoffs.
