Carlos Carvalhal says he will resist offers from abroad in order to continue his managerial career in the English leagues, whether that is at Swansea or elsewhere.
Carvalhal was a mid-season replacement for Paul Clement, who was sacked as Swansea boss in December after a disastrous start to the season where the club won just three matches before Christmas.
The Spaniard was unable to prevent Swansea from being relegated, and after the final-day defeat to Stoke the club's owners released a statement stating Swansea must rediscover their identity as a football club.
Carvalhal said on Sunday he was happy with initial discussions with the Swansea hierarchy regarding his and the club's future, and revealed he has already fielded interest in his services from English as well as foreign sides.
"The club is very well organised and it has been a pleasure to work at Swansea," Carvalhal told Sky Sports News.
"I think the minimum I must do is talk with the owners and understand what they want. After this, I will concentrate on my future.
"I will also talk with my agent There are things on the table to stay in England but I will think about the best decision.
"But I have 100 per cent respect and the first thing I must do is concentrate on the Swansea situation, talk with the owners. After this, I will decide - if we have an agreement to stay or to leave.
"I'm sure that I want to be in England. I've also got proposals to go abroad but I prefer to be in England."
