Ivan Gazidis: Arsenal respond to reports linking chief executive with AC Milan
Last updated on .From the section Arsenal
Arsenal say chief executive Ivan Gazidis is "working hard" and has "always been fully committed", amid reports linking him with AC Milan.
Gazidis, 53, joined the Premier League club in 2008 and was a key figure in appointing new manager Unai Emery.
Reports of Gazidis' departure emerged in the Italian media this week.
"We know he receives many offers and has never accepted any of these opportunities," said Arsenal chairman Sir Chips Keswick.
"He has always been fully committed to taking Arsenal forward."
AC Milan were recently taken over by hedge fund Elliot Management, after former owner Li Yonghong failed to repay a debt to the American company.
Paolo Scaroni, who was deputy chairman of investment bank Rothschild, is the club's interim CEO but Gazidis is reported to be closely connected to Paul Singer, who runs Elliot Management.

Ivan Gazidis is completely overpaid and terrible. He earns £2.6 million every year while running Arsenal into the ground!
All we need now is for Stan Kroenke to say he is selling up and we could have a double celebration.
These people have no affection for The Arsenal.
He may be staying, he may he going.
But I am none the wiser as a result of this statement.
He don't listen to Arsenal fans. He is thinking about profit and bonus pay every year. Got Ozil to sign new contract for £350k pw, ridiculous. Just £50m to spend this year!!! Not good enough. Both Gazidis and Kroenke are bad news for the club. Time for change.

When you talk about failure, how does not winning the league since 1961 rate on your failure scale? I presume every single team that has won the league since are somehow bigger failures than Bottlingham in your eyes. The more wins, the bigger the failure?

Keep it Simple
Given that we have already spent more than £50m on players this summer, I think it is safe to assume that the published budget was the usual gutter press rubbish.
More importantly we have strengthened the areas we struggled last year.
You have to feel sorry for those poor little Spuds, to only have the League Cup to show for 30 years football is pretty pathetic, mocking Arsenal at every opportunity is all they have, sad really
Given how low they've sunk in recent years, I'd have thought they'd snap your hand off for a guaranteed 6th place finish.
Please tell us exactly what you deluded also-rans have to crow about?
You’ve not won a pot worth passing water in for so long, that most people have given up counting.
Rumour has it that the new stadium doesn’t even have a trophy room.
Looking forward to seeing you back in Arsenal’s shadow by next May.
“Having your picture taken with a total despot was bound to draw criticism , And then to pull the racist card out just goes to show how stupid some footballers are.”
The failure of the German team was laid entirely on his shoulders. He is criticised blind to the actual stats. Nothing to do with race? (Misrepresenting the facts just goes to show how stupid some readers are)
