Lucas Perez: West Ham close to signing of Arsenal's Spanish forward

West Ham are close to signing Spanish forward Lucas Perez from Arsenal.
The striker, 29, spent last season on loan at Deportivo La Coruna after failing to establish himself at the Emirates Stadium.
Perez, who joined the Gunners from Deportivo for £17.1m in 2016, would be West Ham's ninth signing since Manuel Pellegrini was named manager in May.
The Chilean wants Perez to provide competition for main strikers Marko Arnautovic and Javier Hernandez.
West Ham open their Premier League campaign in a 13:30 BST kick-off at Liverpool on Sunday.

It's a little odd that the new manager did not fancy just one season of working with him, or Wilshere, neither of whom were utilised well under Wenger. I am sure that he would have got more out of them.
I would like to see them do well.
Obviously a trolling and bottling Spud.
Go and enjoy your six weeks off of school.
Arsenal fans have not forgotten Lucas and in fact we love the guy. He has always put a shift in and we have felt that he was undervalued by Wenger and now possibly Emery although the squad is undergoing a major facelift..
Much rather see Welbeck leave.
I'd rate him over Danny W all day long.
I sincerely hope he des well at WHU and proves his doubters wrong. LP is too good to not be playing in the PL.
And as usual, people will comment and never watched him.
Lucas and Super jack are two great signings.
You're not a real football fan I take it....
You have two years to balance the books. E.g. If we've spent £100m this summer, we have to make that back in revenue by summer 2020.
Also, on your other point, pay back the stadium ?? We pay £2m per season to lease the stadium, we make that in revenue every 4 home games so don't you worry about us.
Hope you go toe to toe with the top 6.
A SPURS FAN.
(now waits for the Arsenal haters to find something bad to say)
