Eric Dier's tackle on Sergio Ramos proved a lively opening for the visitors

There were just 11 minutes on the clock when the Spanish defence knew England were not just there to make up the numbers.

It was the Nations League on Tuesday night in Seville and Gareth Southgate had urged his players to be "brave enough to come here and play".
